We are very fortunate to be working with Butterfly Conservation, a British charity devoted to saving butterflies, moths and their habitats throughout the UK, as well as our own management team and dedicated volunteers. We are doubly fortunate that one of the Trustees for Butterfly Conservation also happens to be a Barnes resident….and Friend of Barnes Common!
Since this collaboration began in 2016, she has kindly submitted an annual review and you can find her Reports below. You can also find the link to our Butterfly Species List.
We would like to thank Karen Goldie-Morrison for her experience and expertise, and also Andrew Wilson and Penny Smallshire for their regular (and stunning) photographic contributions to this page in particular, and to Friends of Barnes Common in general.
We are also extremely grateful to our team of volunteers who give their time regularly over twenty-six weeks each year to record and report sightings.
If you would like to know more or be interested in joining ‘Team Transect’, to find out more about our ecological volunteering opportunities, or to report sightings, please contact Will at [email protected]
