When: After the clocks go forward in March, we meet most Mondays during term-time 09.30 – 11.00. There is always a range of things to do: sowing, pricking out, potting on, weeding, watering, digging, harvesting, sharing.
Twilight Time: During the longer, warmer days of Summer, what better way to end the slump of mid-week Wednesday, that than by spending an hour or two at Vine Road or in the Orchard? When possible, we offer a mini-series of mid-week twilight community sessions throughout June and July. Pop in, come just once, make it a regular thing, come alone, bring the kids, bring your ideas, a picnic, your enthusiasm…but do come!
Where: Vine Road Recreation Ground SW13 0NE
Get Involved: Vine Road volunteers come together to share and learn more about growing. This may include work on their own raised beds, help with general or specific tasks and taking a turn with our watering rota. Volunteers may come weekly or just twice a year to prune the roses – all help is much appreciated.
Our Growers take on the regular responsibility of one of the raised beds and use this space to grow their own. Many are at work during the week and enjoy the chance to unwind and tend to their plants either after work or at weekends – evening picnics enjoying fresh picked produce are popular! Others are involved throughout the week and there are a few always ready to pitch in with even the heaviest and dirtiest of tasks. All part of growing community as well as plants!
