Through introducing opportunities and challenges unlikely to be replicated in a formal designated outdoor space, we aim to fire passion, inspire questions and raise awareness of our local spaces - and have great fun along the way. It is a community-based project, with local experts popping in from time to time to share their knowledge and interests - including a visit to a local hive to hear all about our local bees and sessions with a kite-maker who created an inspirational STEM activity - with vast quantities of art and laughter thrown into the mix!

For several years now, we are proud to be working with local teacher-training institutions to explore and highlight curriculum-linked off-site learning opportunities, and welcome enquiries from interested student teachers. Their energy, enthusiasm and ideas are all a vital asset to the success of our programme.

We are all living increasingly busy lives.  We believe the consistency - and plain good fun - of regular time spent exploring and enjoying with friends in a familiar local space offers a wonderful chance to explore, discover, make new friends outside your usual peer group, and to simply “be” - whatever your age.

Contact Sharon -  as a participant, trainee teacher or should you be interested in sharing a skill, activity or story.
