Vine Road Project

Event Update, June 2024:

Join the growing community of skaters at Vine Road Park and come along on our Skate Demo Weekend (29-30 June). Bring your skateboard, scooter or roller blades and practice your skills on our temporary ramps. Learn tips and tricks from other keen skaters.

Tell us what you want from a skate park, sign up to receive updates and join future events and workshops. Everyone is welcome at these free events! Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. No need to register for a ticket but it helps us to gauge interest: details and tickets are on Eventbrite.

Project Update, February 2024:

The Vine Road Project is still in the planning phase. Due to some small changes and unforeseen circumstances, it has taken a little longer than expected.

We are working closely with the architects and a planning advisor, and hope to submit the planning application to the council this spring or early summer. Once we have an updated Master Plan, we will host some informal drop-in sessions to share the updates and answer any questions.

In the meantime, if you’d like to get involved, please get in touch. Contact Jackie at: [email protected]. We are looking for volunteers to lead working groups, to help engage the skating community, to do some fundraising, and more!

Watch this space for future updates.

Previous updates:

The Vine Road Project successfully gained the support of the Richmond Committee on Environment, Sustainability, Culture and Sports. This is a great step forward for the project, and will allow us to progress to the next phase of design and community consultation, with the goal of applying for planning permission as soon as possible. In order to create further designs, we will need feedback from the community. We will also be conducting surveys, both in person and online, so please keep an eye out for more information.

As part of this design development, we have been looking for guidance from local skaters on what they would like to see from a skatepark at Vine Road Park. In partnership with our friends at Kimber Skatepark, we led a tour of three skateparks to see what participants liked, disliked and ideas they had for Vine Road. We had a wonderful time visiting Crawley, Long Grove and Kimber skateparks, skating, scooting and even playing some basketball. Everyone had fantastic ideas and provided excellent insight in to what we could do to make an inclusive, accessible, and fun space. Thank you to all who attended!

If you are interested in participating in further consultation for the Vine Road Skatepark, or the park in general please contact us. We are always open to feedback on the Vine Road Project, email us here.

Be Part of the Vine Road Park Conversation!

The story so far.

We are delighted to see so much interest and support from across our community.

The online survey has now closed, but the draft Plan can still be viewed here. Why not bookmark this page for project updates and opportunities to get involved?

Together, we can do this!
