It’s February. It’s cold! Even with recent bitingly cold winds, there is much to enjoy and thrill the senses. The second of our self-led walks has been beautifully and thoughtfully crafted by volunteers Mary Clare Sheahan and Andrew Wilson.
Built in 1838, the Leg o’ Mutton Reservoir supplied water until its decommission in 1960. Today, measuring just 800 x 100m (8.2ha), this linear site offers shelter and haven to a wealth of birds and other wildlife.
If you share your photos, or anything inspired by your walk, why not let us know and spread the word about our #barnescommonwalks. Visit our Lo’M page to find out more about this very special site and the important conservation work being carried out by our staff and volunteers.
