The Site

This former orchard, now wedged between two sets of train tracks in Barnes, is a popular place for recreation, learning and socialising.

The history of this site is rich and varied. It has been home to a thriving market garden, an orchard that at one time saw young girls travel from far afield to earn money to take home at harvest time, hosted a successful outdoor bowls’ club, provided endless memories of picnics and play – and according to one local, hosted donkey rides! As with all things, this is a time of change and we hope you will join us as we work to ensure the next chapter in the story of Vine Road Park is one to benefit our changing community.
