To celebrate Apple Day and all things Autumn, we invite you to join us for our annual Autumn Fayre, a community event for all. Save the date: Saturday the 18th of October 2025. We’ve planned a day full of fun!
Add your apples to the community basket for juicing in our traditional apple presser, for a discount on a bottle of juice. Don’t worry if you don’t have an apple tree, we’ll have plenty! About 1.5 kilos of apples will give you 500ml of apple juice.
Families can enjoy a range of activities from pumpkin crafts with our community growing team to den building with Paddy and creating your own small wood craft with Ellie from Wood Wool Willow.
If you’re looking for a learning experience, join internationally regarded botanist, Dr Mark Spencer for a fungi walk on Barnes Common. Tickets will be available to book closer to the date. Famed entomologist Richard ‘Bugman’ Jones and earthworm expert James Skillicorn will be hosting stalls with bug hunts and creating wormeries.
Local organisations the Mortlake Community Association will have crafts for children and the AfC’s YES bus will be visiting with activities for children and young people.
Feeling competitive? The conker competition is for you – bring your own conkers and battle others.
If you’ve worked up an appetite, you can purchase pizza from The Dough Shack who will be returning this year. The Vine Road Community Café will be selling refreshments throughout the day and you’ll find home baked cakes at our cake stall. Lots more to see and do on the day.
Entry to the Fayre is free, but please do register on Eventbrite so we know you are coming. Some activities are ticketed – please book on Eventbrite. Tickets will be available to book closer to the date.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear.
Meet for all activities at the Vine Road Recreation Ground near the Pavilion.
