Located along the Thames Path on the south side of the river between Barnes Railway Bridge and Hammersmith Bridge, this former reservoir built in 1838 supplied water until its decommission in 1960. Today, measuring just 800 x 100m (8.2ha), this linear site offers shelter and haven to a wealth of birds and other wildlife.
Wildlife has taken over, with reeds growing in the shallows, trees breaking up the concrete walls, herons nesting on the rafts and a collection of wildfowl. With Veronica's expert knowledge and a little luck you may spot some wildlife as you take take a stroll around the Reserve.
This walk will last approximately two hours and will start near the noticeboard outside the Swedish School on Lonsdale Avenue.
