Summer Talk: Spirituality and Gardens

11:00am, Saturday July 26th, 2025

The Polytunnel at Vine Road Recreation Ground, SW13 0NE

Should we consider our gardens, big or small, as places of worship that deserve more protection? Join us for poet Edward Adonteng's talk.

Resilience refers to the ability of environments and communities to react to change in a way that enables them to continue to thrive. How we create flourishing and resilient environments and communities is a pertinent question for our times.

Our new Summer Series of walks, talks and workshops encourages us to consider this question, by looking at nature and food growing in new and unique ways. We are delighted to welcome poet, artist, gardener and academic Edward Adonteng to the Growing Project, who will be discussing spirituality and gardens.

Growing, for many, is considered a form of stewardship to/for the Earth. In the epoch of the Anthropocene, how are our spirits impacted? Should we consider our gardens, big or small - as places of worship that deserve more protection?

This talk will take place at the Polytunnel at Vine Road Rec.

Your ticket includes a 50% discount on a drink (hot or cold) at the Vine Road Community Cafe at the Pavilion.
