Crafty Science

Creatives, Makers and Explorers – Join the Fun!

What: Holidays are the perfect time for longer sessions and the chance to dig a bit deeper. These hands-on, immersive activities are most suitable for ages 7+. With a strong practical focus on working SLOWER (Sustainably, Locally, Organicly, Working together, Environmentally and Responsibly), new faces are always most welcome. We are also delighted that so many who come along once tend to make Crafty Science a regular part of their holiday time.

These STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, maths) related activities have included building a wormery, group installations, making juggling balls from old socks, circus skills, making candles, kite-making, recycling old wellies into plant containers and ‘eco art’ – finding ways to reduce, re-use and recycle. A firm favourite with Duke of Edinburgh lads involved exploring endothermic reactions by making footbath fizz-bombs! Crafty Science is also part of our FindersKeepers Lost Words project.

Where: Vine Road Recreation Ground SW13 0NE.

When: OTT (outside term-time) Note: This activity is currently suspended.

In increasingly busy times, we believe that regular time spent outdoors exploring and enjoying with friends is a wonderful chance to discover, play and simply “be”.

Recent feedback from our young Creatives:

‘I shall say that my most amasing three (ish) hours were well spent’
‘I liked the whole session, I particularly liked painting the wellie boots. It was really fun’
‘It was really fun. My feedback is that maybe you could make the sessions longer so everyone can do more activities’
