Why donate to Barnes Common?

Your donation supports our work in community engagement and helps us further our vision and mission:

  • Conservation – improving our green spaces for the benefit of all and for the future
  • Biodiversity – enhancing habitats for the wide variety of plant and animal life
  • Lifelong Learning – offering educational events, delivering nature based outdoor learning sessions to school children, young people and adults of all ages and abilities
  • Wellbeing – community growing and gardening in the community

Every donation has an impact, for instance:

£10 = 2 children’s places to a family learning activity during the school holidays

£15 = a pair of secateurs for harvesting vegetables in our growing project

£20 = specialist seed soil to supplement our own compost

£30 = a bird nesting box

£50 = a pair of chest waders (to get in the water and safely carry out litter removal and invertebrate surveys)

£50 = 2 pairs of hand shears for use by our growing volunteers

£100 = a water tank for our community growing project

£150 = a full day visit to the Common for a class of 30 primary school students

£200 = a microscope, helping us to identify species and with other learning opportunities

£500 = a water quality testing kit, to test the Beverley Brook and the ponds for water quality and pollution

£750 = an electric chainsaw, helping us in our aim to move away from fossil fuel use!
