This short video shows a year in the life of the reed bed on Barnes Common. A time lapse animation created from stills taken over the past year, it takes us from winter to spring to summer, autumn and then winter again, celebrating nature’s circle of life.

This film is dedicated to all of the volunteers who have ever supported conservation and biodiversity development on all parts of Barnes Common.

Great reedmace (Typha latifolia, bulrush) 1.5/3m tall
Yellow iris (Iris pseudacorus) 1/1.5, Tall
Appearance by Cetti‘s warbler (Cettia cetti) 15 grammes
& annoying bramble
