Vine Road Recreation Ground, SW13 0NE

Starting at Vine Road Rec., follow the map on this self-guided walk and find the missing species on the Beverley Brook.

About this event

We know what it looks like now, but have you ever wondered what this area might have looked like in the past? What might have lived here? Follow the Beverley Brook Lost Nature Trail to find out! On this self-guided walk you will spot species that are threatened or extinct, that would have once called this area home.

Each ticket includes a Guide Sheet and map (which you can collect or download) and a badge (which you can collect before or after completing the trail). Use the worksheet and map to follow the trail and record the cut-out animals - once you have completed the trail, you can submit your evidence to be entered into a prize draw!

After finishing the walk, visit our website to find out more about these species. Learn why they went missing or why are they endangered, and what we can do to prevent further loss and improve the biodiversity in the Brook.

This event is held as part of London Rivers Week, a week-long annual campaign inspiring the public to celebrate all of London's rivers and the many projects taking place to protect them (22-30 June 2024).

This event will launch at Barnes Children's Literature Festival on June 22nd - come meet us at the Barnes Common stall and collect your map and badge on the day.

* Each ticket includes 1x Guide Sheet and 1x Badge. If you would like a badge for more than 1 person in your group please purchase additional tickets.

* If you are happy to share the Guide Sheet and Badge, please add additional free tickets - this helps us to monitor how many people take part.

* A download link will be shared with everyone who has booked, or printed Guide Sheets and badges can be collected from Vine Road Pavilion Monday-Thursday between 09.00-16.30.

* This activity is self-guided, and can be completed at any time. We encourage people to complete the activity during London Rivers Week (22-30 June 2024).

* Once you have completed the trail, you can submit your evidence to be entered into a prize draw! Bring your guide sheet to our office at the Vine Road Pavilion and either hand it to us or put it in our mailbox outside the door. Alternatively, email Paddy at [email protected] with a photo of your completed sheet.
