Celebrate World Wetlands Day with a local nature discovery walk!
Join us for a nature walk in Barnes Village, where we will be learning all about flood resilience and protecting the natural world around us. Wetlands and rivers are vital to our natural ecosystems, but wetlands are disappearing three times as fast as our forests. We will discover how every size of wetland, from puddles to rivers to lakes, plays an essential role in the natural world.
Plus, learn more about Community BlueScapes’ mission to boost local biodiversity, combat climate change and manage flooding with natural and sustainable water management!
This family friendly nature walk will last for 90 minutes. Participants will walk a distance of 1 mile outdoors, so please bring suitable attire and footwear.
Please note, dogs will not be admitted at this event except guide dogs. All our events are dog free unless specifically mentioned in the event listing.
Community BlueScapes is a partnership between London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Barnes Common Limited, and WWT.

We have been awarded £6 million of funding by Defra as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programmes which is managed by the Environment Agency. The programmes will drive innovation in flood and coastal resilience and adaptation to a changing climate.
