Built in 1838, the Leg o' Mutton Reservoir supplied water until its decommission in 1960. Today, measuring just 800 x 100m (8.2ha), this linear site offers shelter and haven to a wealth of birds and other wildlife.
Early spring is a lovely time to explore the reservoir, looking for those early signs of spring, listening for bird song, and, if we are lucky, we may see some early prunus flowering.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear.
