In this workshop, we’ll cover the basics of pruning, including tools you’ll need and how to prune specific plants like roses & apple trees.

Pruning is a really useful skill for growers to have. However, often people feel worried and nervous about how to begin. In this workshop, we’ll cover the basics of pruning, including what tools you’ll need. We’ll look at how to prune specific plants, including apple trees, currant bushes and roses. If there are particular plants you’d like advice on, we’ll cover those in the session. We hope you’ll leave feeling confident enough to have a go at pruning yourself!

All workshops will run on the 3rd Saturday of the month unless otherwise stated. The workshops will run from 10am to 11am, and you are welcome to stay afterwards to chat, look around the growing area and ask the workshop leader any questions. If you attend the training, you will also receive an emailed resource sheet afterwards with links to websites, videos and books you might want to use.

This workshop will take place in the polytunnel in our growing area at Vine Road Rec.

Please note, dogs will not be admitted at this event except guide dogs. All our events are dog free unless specifically mentioned in the event listing.
