Our volunteer Crispin O’Brien, who leads the Barnes Community Gardeners invited our MP Sarah Olney to come for a visit to see our work at Vine Road Park. The visit took place on Friday, a lovely sunny day and perfect for a walk around the community growing project, where Crispin shared his vast knowledge of organic composting.
Sarah was able to see the work our volunteers have been doing, getting the growing beds in and out of the polytunnel, ready for spring planting. Of course we couldn’t let her leave without introducing her to our chair Mike Hildesley, who gave her an overview of the Vine Road Project and other work of the Friends of Barnes Common.
